Send me a fandom I’m not in and I’ll summarize what I’ve picked up from tumblr

The bandom:

Okay so a lot of my understanding of the bandom is from Kate not tumblr but the general sense I’ve gotten is that people play music and fans get like really into it and know everything about the musicians and the history of the band and the production of all the videos and the tour schedules and everything and write creepy real person fanfiction and a lot of it is self insert like my favorite fic “The Nerd Alex Babinski” and there are lots of edits with just colored squares with lyrics over them and also Kate told me to mention that I lowkey ship the guys from All Time Low

The Walking Dead:

There are zombies but the zombies are weirdly unimportant because the real bad guys are people like John Winchester. There’s a kid named Karl and his dad may or may not be the main character and makes dad jokes?? Also Bela from Supernatural is in it. And there’s a guy named Daryl who people used to think was gay but also some people think he’s ace but also some people think he’s into a child and also a woman named Carol. The season finale just had a sucky cliffhanger apparently

Doctor Who:

A reincarnating white dude travels through time and space in a blue police box with his attractive companions who don’t seem to do much but occasionally fall in love with him. Moffat sucks. People fight aliens. There’s a dude called the master who I think is important. At least two of the Doctors were in love with Rose Tyler and at least one was married to River Song who was the child of Rory and Amy and the 12th doctor was in The Musketeers. There’s a lesbian couple involving a lizard at some point. The episode about Vincent Van Gogh makes literally everyone emotional.

Marvel:

Well I actually have a Captain America sideblog so I don’t know if this counts 🙂 But basically it’s about superheroes (and Thor who I guess is an alien even though isn’t he supposed to be a god??) who run around fighting stuff like weird alien things and Hydra and each other. Literally everyone is shipped with each other. Don’t talk about Age of Ultron.

John Green books:

I wouldn’t say I don’t know anything about these because I did read several but yeah people tend to either really like them or think he’s the spawn of the devil?? not a lot of neutrality for some reason. There’s a lot of manic pixie dream girl stuff going on but it might actually be a criticism of that kind of trope I don’t know if anyone is really clear
