A “hijabi” is a Muslim women that wears the headscarf. “Hijabee” is a play on the word because I like puns. Anyways, my girls here are just five roommates sharing a beehive as they try to get by in this terrible economy.🐝🌸

The sculptor is thought to be Pythokritos of Rhodes.

ok i was super interested in the girl with the flag when i saw this and i sort of couldn’t let it go so i looked it up and found out some nice stuff: 

“At the Porte Saint-Denis, a woman climbed the rubble in a defiant move towards the troops shooting at the insurgents, waving the flag she had taken from the dead insurgent leader. The soldiers shouted at her to withdraw, but she did not and was killed.” (x)

“Gabé chose to depict the heroine at the height of her protest before she fell, dead, onto the barricade. A second woman took over and held the body of her comrade whilst throwing stones at the assailants before she too was shot dead.” (x)
