Because of @pawspaintsnthings idea that Jack will get Bitty something amazing and over the top for his birthday I though of what Jack would get Bitty for their wedding.

A Bakery.

Jack L. Zimmermann would buy Bitty a bakery as wedding present.

Jack would have the plans for the establishment as soon as he proposed. He would keep it hidden for months as he made appointments with contractors and city officials to get all the correct permits. All of his signing bonus would go into building that bakery.

The best part of it? Every day Jack and Bitty walk past the store as its being worked on and Bitty would always wonder what it would be. He thinks it’s a new cafe or a a restaurant until the final touches finally start coming together, near the wedding date, and a small “bakery coming soon” sign appears on the front door. Bitty gets so excited!!! Like a new bakery! He starts rambling to Jack about what type of pastries he hopes they will sell.

He looks through the glass windows and is so excited!!! The bakery looks so cute!

He talks to Jack about the owners and what type of people he hopes they’ll be. About what he wants to try and maybe make some new friends. Of course Bitty will be baking most of his stuff but he always likes to try freshly baked goods from someone else now and then and exchange recipes!

Bitty is in love with the shop already and it hasn’t even opened!

It’s a week before their BIG day and Jack wakes up Bitty for an early morning jog.

They pass the bakery. The construction is done and the lights are on but no one is inside yet. Jack takes out his key rings and before Bitty can question him he unlocks the door.

Jack turns around.

And at this point I don’t know what Jack would say cause I’ve never have been given nor have I gifted anyone a wedding present but Bitty is floored and he’s crying and he’s so happy and excited.

He tours the bakery immediately going to the kitchens and it’s decked out with everything he needs (except the fresh ingredients, those will come soon) and then there’s tears, yelling about what he’s going to do with a bakery. “Bake,” Jack would say simply. And kisses hugs and so many emotions!!!!

Bitty wouldn’t have to worry about the financial things because Jack has him covered until he starts making a profit. Holster will be handling a lot of the financial and tax jargon, Shitty will be helping with the legal stuff. Anything breaks or needs fixing? Dex has him covered. Of course Nursey and Lardo bring in culture and art to the place(wherever Dex goes Nursey tags along anyways. Plus Bitty needs another baker/extra hands running the shop)

Pretty much everyone finds their place in the bakery and Bitty couldn’t be happier. Jack couldn’t be happier. They get married and open the bakery. All of the NHL visits and it’s a hit.

When Jack retires from the NHL he works at the bakery.

AU where Bitty is the star of a Reality TV show where he visits the most depraved college houses in the US (and some parts of Canada). 

At this house, he is challenged to make the best meal he can using only what he can find in the kitchen. It’s quite entertaining for the whole family to watch this polite georgian who is made of sunshine turn into a complete mess during the process of cooking. (”You don’t have a rolling pin??? Well, sir, do you have an empty liquor bottle that I can use instead?”) What’s even more astounding is that he can turn even the direst of pantries into a wholesome dish. And after sharing that dish, he teaches the house how to shop and cook on a college student’s budget. 

So of course he makes it to the Haus. It has a really good star material because the production team was notified that a certain hockey star currently resides there. What they don’t realize is the rest of the Haus is gold for the episode and there are so many one liners that go on to become memes. 

For example, Bitty holds a bag of what is obviously pot and Shitty grabs it and just looks into the camera and says “That’s… Oregano and I’m sticking with it to the grave”

Of course, Jack Zimmermann turned out to be the star of the episode, but not for the reasons everyone expected. He turned out to be a bit prickly at first. but changed after seeing Bitty struggle a bit in the kitchen. There was only sriracha, beer, and the cheese that is squeezed out of a can. It’s not a lot to work with. 

So Jack just says “come up to my room right now”. And in his room, Bitty and the Audience see a huge stash of healthy fresh foods. There is a mini fridge stocked with eggs, meat, yogurt, strawberry jam. And he has a whole shelf of protein powders, and several types of nuts and nutty butters. 

“Sweet Jesus” is all Bitty says at first. Jack then simply explains that he has a pretty strict diet for hockey and can rely on himself to keep it. 

“Why do you need six dozen eggs?”

“Protein”

“Okay”

Bitty gets to work and makes Sriracha Deviled Eggs, a beer braised stew, and a peanut butter and jelly tart in less than half an hour.

 And then after the Haus has eaten and feels greatful, they invite him out to hockey thinking “Bitty’s never played before, let’s go easy on him” 

Bitty destroys them all while playing. And Jack didn’t realize but he just fell a little bit in love that day. 

After Bitty leaves, Jack never misses an episode of Bitty’s show. The team chirp him relentlessly. After signing with the Falconers, he convinces a house full of his teammates to go on the show just so Jack can spend another few days with Bitty. 

And after the cameras are all packed off and sent away, Jack runs to Bitty and does his thing.

okay, i promised myself i would reign it in and pay the toll to real life responsibilities before i flailed about my feelings on the update, but i’m already trash so

  • casual intimacy for jack is so groundbreaking though. bits.
  • of course bitty has little hearts and a cake on the calendar for jack’s birthday
  • bitty has a lego jack. that he pecks when he can’t kiss the real thing. lord.
  • bitty takes more after his mother, but has his father’s eyes like whoa
  • consistently impressed with n’s ability to demonstrate inherited family traits
  • that close-up picture of jack on bitty’s wall when he’s talking about curling
  • JACK OFFENDED THAT BITTY THINKS HE CAN’T CURL
  • jack’s plaid flannel hanging on the back of bitty’s door
  • i love the idea of bitty driving a pick-up (and jack and bitty gettin’ it on in the bed of it)
  • i am positive they were pressing their calves together under the table when they were eating with the bittles. it’s not up for discussion
  • jack’s teammate noticing how earnestly happy jack looks when talking on the phone to a certain someone
  • it’s gonna hurt though, because the falcs will rib him about his girl and jack just wants to avoid these discussions completely. he feels terrible for not being ready to be out yet and keeping bittle in the closet. it’s not going to be a fun time for him, keeping this on the dl 😦
  • but also dang that bey poster is smokin’

I am SO HERE FOR THE POTENTIAL ANGST
