so in “the good place,” knowing how the afterlife points system works automatically sends team cockroach to the bad place, since their motivation to do good is now corrupted. ever since watching the show – and i don’t think i’m alone in this – sometimes when i do things, i catch myself wondering how many points it would give or cost me, if the system was real. but, of course, if it was real, just thinking about that would automatically doom me. doing what i do best, i then proceeded to go down a rabbit hole – if the system was real, it would really benefit the bad place crew for as many people as possible to know how the system works, since that would give them even more souls to torture. so, imagine for a moment…. what if the tv show “the good place” is a piece of bad place trickery, designed to cause as many humans as possible to inadvertently damn themselves to the bad place? in this essay i will
